Welcome to the NHS Freshman Campus!

Without a doubt, the freshman year is the most important for our students in establishing a solid academic and social foundation for high school. At NHSFC, we work hard to help freshmen have the best possible start to their high school career.

Students can take advantage of the many academic and social opportunities at NHS within a smaller school setting, and the faculty and staff focus on meeting the unique learning needs of freshmen as they transition from middle school to high school.

Be sure to check out our Miller Way, which outlines the actions and attitudes reinforced every day to help all students reach their potential as high school students.

Go Millers!

Changes to Freshman Campus pickup on early release days

During early release days, students may no longer be picked up in the west bus loading zone. Students may only be picked up at the east gym doors. School buses will now pickup students on early release days and run their normal routes ater early dismissal. All students will be dismissed at 2:05 on early release days. Students who need to remain at school for after school activities should report to the cafeteria for a supervised study hall. Remaining early release days are 3/3, 3/17, 4/14, 4/28, and 5/12.

Summer school dates and enrollment form

As of February 23, the first session of summer PE is closed. There will not be a waiting list. There is plenty of room in the second session of summer PE.

Summer school registration forms are now available for download here. Students are not enrolled in summer school until a registration form and payment of $10 per session is received in the NHS main office at 18111 Cumberland Rd., Noblesville, IN 46060. Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch/textbook assistance do not pay for summer school but must turn in a registration form. Deadline for applications (other than failed courses) is May 3, 2010.

Session I: June 2-June 22 (15 days)
Session II: June 23-July 14 (15 days, no school July 5)

NHS PTO requests your assistance

Thought about ways you could help NHS? Academic Recognition and After Prom events are just around the corner. If you would like to volunteer to help with either of these activities, contact the representatives listed below:

Academic Recognition: PTO President Lisa Feeley at lisa.got2know@yahoo.com
After Prom: Committee Chairperson Anne Riddle at acrlamb3@aol.com or 317-408-1271.

If you are short on time but still would like to help, you can make cash donations to either or both events. Please specify the event you wish to support with your donation, which can be mailed to the NHS Main Campus. Thank you in advance for your help.

PTO information can be found on our NHS PTO webpage. All parents of NHS students are invited to attend PTO meetings. If you have questions about PTO meetings or activities, contact Lisa Feeley.

Quarter 3 Midterm and Report Cards

On February 10, Quarter 3 midterm report cards were mailed to parents whose students had a D and/or F on February 9. Quarter 3 report cards will be distributed at school during the latter part of the week of March 15.

Do The Right Thing: A confidential way to report bad behavior

NHS students may report dangerous or destructive behavior to a confidential email account: dotherightthing@mail.nobl.k12.in.us

This email account is monitored by NHS At-Risk Coordinator, Mrs. Deanna Cummins, who determines how to respond to these reports.

Bullying, theft, and drug use/possession have been reported to the DTRT account. Mrs. Cummins herself has intervened to correct some behaviors, and she has referred other situations to the NHS administration.

Students are encouraged to use DTRT to help keep NHS a safe and productive school environment.

Freshman Campus office hours

Beginning Monday, November 16, the FC office hours will change slightly. The FC office will still open each morning at 7:00 am, but will now close each afternoon at 3:15 pm. If you have any questions, please call the FC office at 776-5913.

NHS schedules seven 30-minute early release days for each semester

Noblesville High School has established a plan to release students 30 minutes early on certain days to provide time for professional development for teachers. The plan takes effect with the upcoming semester and impacts both campuses.
